One-Minute Garden Update — June 10, 2023

It’s been two weeks since we put the garden in for this year. The weather during its first week was incredibly dry, and the last week has been unseasonably cold and wet. But aside from losing two eggplants, I can’t recall most everything looking this good two weeks in for a long, long time. Here’s a short video I took this afternoon during a break in the raindrops.

Even the squash bed on the other side of the house is doing better than I expected. The butternut seedlings are making a comeback after the heat beat them up badly- I did not think they’d survive. The two basil plants are doing well, and the pumpkin hills have sprouted three plants. Today I stuck the last oregano seedling in there for lack of a better place to put it.

Next week may have a different kind of adventure to report- I’m awaiting confirmation that the trip is on. Then it’ll be back to the usual summertime fun- hiking, fishing, camping and gardening.

Thanks for stopping by!
