Recently I related my first moose encounter in Vermont, and included a couple of cell phone photographs. That day I took a few shots with a better camera and lens, and last night finally had the chance to see what they looked like. Here’s a couple of them:

It was fairly early in the morning as I took these photos, shooting east into the sun. I was about 150 yards from the moose, using the old Nikon D90 DSLR with a Nikkor 18-200mm DX zoom lens.
As for the “Bonus Critters”, below are a couple of videos taken from the patio recently. The first is of an energetic beaver heading upstream. He definitely was on a mission. The second is of a pair of bald eagles swooping across the pond. They were stalking a flock of Canada geese and goslings swimming across the pond. Apologies for the jerky tracking on that video- it was challenging trying to track two birds in the air.
I hope you enjoyed the Creature Feature and thanks for stopping by!
Nice eagle shot. Lovely to see.
It nice to see those eagles soar. Their sightings have become quite common here in the Midwest now too. When I was a kid they were nearly extinct.
I was amazed at how many bald eagles there were to see when we lived in Des Moines a while back.
